You were the first person I thought of when I (a U.S. resident) read this news. Well done! I anticipate the same celebration here come January 2009, barring a Romney win or some fouled-up enabling act. ::shudder::
In the same New York Times article in which I read the results, I learned the word (or acronym) ANZUS, which the Times' style guidelines render as "Anzus." Considering the current American leadership, I read it as Anschluss. Yikes!!
fab drawing- my sentiments exactly! What a freaking relief- I have spent the whole day basking in a joyous state of delirium & hoping it wasn't all just a dream! (but perhaps it was the past eleven years which have actually been a bad dream). Wasn't Saint Maxine's performance the ultimate icing on the cake though?
Letterpress printer, bookbinder, book-arts teacher, designer, daydreamer. Also mother, wife, cat-owner and dreadfully slack friend and relative. I live in Canberra, Australia. You'll read about any and all of these things, in no particular order. Enjoy! (Serving suggestion only.)
If you'd like to know more about me and my printing adventures, check out ampersandduck.com. Visit the Duckshop, where you might find a thing or two.
a note for printers
At work I print on a Graphix cylinder proofing press and a small Korrex cylinder proofing press. At home I have a Vandercook SP20 under wraps, just waiting for a studio. If you've always wanted to find a manual for the SP20, mine is downloadable here.
Best Beloved (BB): husband, does. not. read. blog., loves to cook, wants to be Ricky Gervais in the next life.
Bumblebee: 11 going on puberty, transfixed by mirrors or any shiny surface, wants to be David Tennant in his next life, or possibly George Lucas.
Mr Padge: fat cat, likes to bury his head in armpits, inner elbows, backs of knees. Purrs loudly. Now available with special curly tail!
Mr Pooter: thin cat. Evil genius. Purrs softly but digs in a sharp claw at the same time. In his next life he wants to be both President and Prime Minister of Russia.
Colonel & Lady Duck: tree-change retirees living in the glorious deep south of NSW with some chooks, a couple of cows and a very weird dog.
