Leeping over sheep

I make good typos when commenting on people's blogs. I mean, no typo is a GOOD typo, but when they're typos that you can't go in and correct without starting a whole new comment, you might as well make the best of it. I've decided not to go GAH with rage anymore, but to adopt a TimT attitude and play with the mistake. see TimT? You have become a role model, with very little effort on your behalf. (That link to Tim, it makes me snort so hard I scare the cats. Repeatedly.)

I did a beauty at Penthe's blog the other day, and have been thinking about it ever since. I missed the 's' in 'sleeping' and decided that

LEEPing is the reassertion of innocence after a particularly naughty day.

Children, as was the context of that comment, are masters in the art of leeping. Haven't we all had those days when a child (sometimes not your own, one that you're babysitting maybe? Let's be inclusive) is utterly naughty and brat-like, then they go to sleep and look so utterly charming that you forgive them everything and actually look forward to seeing them awake the next day?

I'd like to think that people never grow out of leeping. Obviously some people do, like Hitler and Pol Pot, but isn't every night a chance to reprogram the brain and start the next day fresh? Oh gawd, I'm being overly Pollyanna-ish now. Sorry. But the idea really appeals to me. It's akin to the body healing while you're asleep. I always daydream about the outside of the body shutting down for the night, but all the busy little interior beings waking up for a big night of spit & polish, or manic fat generation. Sigh. Wake up Duckie, time to go make dinner...

I've known a few men like that, actually.

WV: fulopie. Which is presumably what one is when one falls asleep for a night of manic fat generation.

Ah, leep - the baiting place of wit, the balm of woe... soothest leep, soft leep, gentle leep! Just thinking about it makes me want to go aleep now!

Some of the first things I ever wrote were poems in imitation of the songs in The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings, which of course have a lot of made up words in them. Whenever I couldn't make a proper rhyme at the end of a line, I'd just... make a word up!

Now I just like the idea that when you make a spelling mistake you have just, completely by accident, stumbled across a hitherto unknown concept. It's a fun idea to play with.

Since his leep the Noodle has been cooperative, patient, funny, creative, musical and has eaten food he doesn't like.

I think leeping is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Ever.

Oh yes. Erik is big on the leeping.

I love Tim T's comment with my level of schooling and I think of the little time I spent at school. (I left on the day I turned fifteen my birthday is in December so it coincided with school break up for the year.I just went home and said I am not going back to school I can legaly make up my own mind today and went and got a job ). I was to worried about the hockey, netball or swimming team. Now Peter is a teacher and I see all the work he does to teach the english language to these sponge like children I feel like I would love to learn now. They say it is never to late to start learning. But if I never got it then how would I get it now so people have to either laugh at my spelling mistakes or let me know and i will keep that word in my head for awhile until I can spell it.My only wish is that they had spell check on blog sites and face book. Oh well I have said my piece. I love this blog site and all you people that comment on it. Just to let you know I think I have learned more about education and life reading this blog and joining in it. All my skills come from life experiences and the dictionary is my most used book, but I love to read everything else. reading rocks. Love Aunty lou
