I'm pretending that I'm moving. It's messy, and it's going to get worse before it can get better, but I need to purge. I want less crap in my life.
The cats aren't helping.
UPDATE. I've decided upon a hot weather action plan. Pretending to move in the mornings and evenings, while the house is cool, and pretending to live at the studio during the day, where it's always cool. Destruction and creation, awesome way to pass the summer days.

Ah yes, purging! I can only dream about having a minimalist crap-free existence. Every time I achieve a modicum of tidiness, along comes another complicated mess-filled project to clutter my life. Have fun filling those green garbage bags!
I really need to do a similar thing. I've started by listing one thing on craigslist. A small start. I need toddler-free motivated time to do much more.
if you have any tips, or this pretending to move works, do let me know. I am a prisoner to my junk. Stuff. Things. Art supplies are the worst.
(of COURSE I'm going to finish all those linoprints...)
May I suggest you box everything up and mark it with a date one year in the future (or pop it in another cupboard). Anything you haven't pulled out by that date gets tossed.
Or you could take on the Seven Things challenge: http://theshoppingsherpa.blogspot.com/2008/09/seven-things-spring-summer-2008-week-1.html
House fires work for me.
SS: unfortunately, they're the sorts of things I'm going through. I have *lots* of boxes and piles that haven't been touched for five years, let alone one. Makes it very easy to chuck, but there's a lot of it.
Bernice: don't tempt me.
fifi: pretending to move is the *only* way I can clean up. If I could really move, I would, like a shot.
Crit: one thing at a time, better than nothing.
H: oh hell, I must ring you. Will try now.
It probably won't surprise you one little bit to know that I don't have any trouble at all chucking stuff out. Some people around her thinks that means something. Some people around here think everything means something.
Some people.
