teh evils, they are chipmunks

Bumblebee has been (re)discovering my box of 45 singles from the 1980s: Adam Ant, The Dugites, Gary Numan, Culture Club, Belle Stars, Lena Lovich and many very daggy others. He especially likes the sound that the needle makes when it hits the vinyl, and is learning, from my distant squawks, to refine his technique.

He then discovered what Michael Jackson's Thriller album sounds like on 45: he joyously calls it 'Teh Evil Chipmunks', and laughs wickedly himself at Evil Chipmunk Vincent's chipmunky evil laugh at the end. Ah, youth isn't wasted on this young one.

We're off to the Blue Mountains today, to warm Dr Sista Outlaw's house tomorrow night. Have a good one yourself.

Oh, what a discovery that is!! I remember making it myself at about the same age. My cousin had a turntable that could play 78rpm. It was truly excellent. Does he watch Spicks and Specks?

(doorbitch says "bustring". I suggest not.)

NO! Her name wasn't really Linda NUTTER! Or is that her 'punk' name, like Johnny Rotten?!

LOLing in gentle mockery of myself. Nothing wrong with the Dugites, really. Wish I had 'My Car' rather than 'Goodbye', but I still sing along happily.

yummy yum!

Belle Stars AND The Dugites, wow.

I've been singing Picasso Visita el Planeta de los Simios to myself for most of the week. amusing, pretentious AND a hot tune all at the same time! that and The Scorpios. woo!

I need to have another vinyl party - had one when a friend and I turned 33 and a third (groan) but I don't think anyone really took it seriously (well...). but I'd love to spend an evening browsing and playing vinyl with a bunch of like minded reminiscing old things ;-)
