im in ur newzpaprs

Total coincidence, but I happen to be in both the Bega Times and the Canberra Times on the same day, for totally different reasons.

Canberra Times, in a review of my bookbinding exhibition (which now has my exhibition essay up on the gallery website):

CanberraTimes_090529

and Bega, to promote the upcoming workshop I am hopefully teaching if they get the numbers:

BegaTimes_090529

Trying to look casual and approachable, don't want to scare off the punters

If you want to read the words, just click on the images to get somewhere that will make them bigger. I'm chuffed that Megan is billing my workshop as 'entertainingly invaluable'. I think I'll pop that on all my promotional material.

Colonel Duck has been ringing me excitedly through the morning each time he found an article. I'm going to appoint him my official Press Secretary.

That is so cool. Fun and cool.

(I'm assuming they say you are fun and cool and thoughtful and gorgeous - can't read them because flickr is blocked here)

Congrats. That is cool.

Yesterday I downloaded the pdf brochure for your course at this year's Sturt winter school., daydreamed for quite some time, and then came down to earth with the crushing realization that the combination of toddler, phd, partner with full time job and no childcare made the whole idea a little far fetched.

Maybe next year...

I was thrilled, utterly thrilled to open my newspaper today and find you inside it. Made today the nicest day of the week.

oh, that is brilliant! You do such good stuff.

The first ever photo I ever saw of you was ages ago, on my first visit, and you had used that distorting filter on photo booth.
("ducky is not amused"-oh how I laughed)
It was both horrifying and cranky-looking, so I always feel mildly surprised when I see you looking your gorgeous self!! LOL

hi caren

I'm excited to hear you might be coming to bega - as I'm just up the road! I'd heard nothing about your upcoming proposed workshops until a friend from interstate emailed me!

I'll be there with bells on - hopefully you'll get other arty farty booky types from down here to register their interest too

cheers

I wished I lived in the Canberra ducky: I woulds come to all yr events:I have just had delicious veal chops and watched 'New tricks' chez Cole-Adams while Kate is at Queenscliff litfest being guest of honour at literary dinner, and now have copy of the leaky essay. At least two unbearable sentences so far: did you get book? Sent it to p.o. box on your site.....

Fabulous! If I wasn't in the middle of cooking I could probably come up with a press pun, so just insert your own slice of pithiness [here].
