Guy in the middle reminds me of a guy I used to know in the Newcastle chess club. He was likeable but boring; while he was playing chess and after he was playing he would say the most dull and obvious things, and ask a whole heap of questions with dull, inconsequential answers - quite rapidly, too.
But he was interesting to get to know; once I sat opposite him on a bus going out to Belmont, near Lake Macquarie, and he started telling me about how he had suffered for a long time from a terrible speech impediment and an inability to say anything. A friend eventually asked him along to Toastmasters where he learned his stunning repartee: he'd been a member there for over a decade when I met him. (I admit, I liked him more after he told me that story.)
You didn't get this photo at Newcastle toastmasters, did you?
Heh, I knew this would be a weird post. I found the link (on 'heh', in case the colours are too close) and then just found a picture in the interwebs that seemed to fit it. I really just wanted somewhere to keep the link, for future reference, and isn't that what a blog is all about?

Surely the only thing to talk about is that carpet. Surely.
I didn't know you went to the 2020 summit.

Well I'm going to study it very thoroughly. You know why - so does Janet Turner Hospital.
