Gah

Alright. Now you have full permission to pity me, because Best Beloved is ill with a chesty cold, and in my experience there is NOTHING worse than a sick man. I know it sounds sexist, but no-one yet has managed to disprove my theory.

Oh, excuse me while I rush off to make his snack, to be received grudgingly. Complete personality misplacement until body goes back to normal. Sigh.

No, I think you're right. My experience proves you're on the money. Good luck with it!

On the bright side, Ms Duck, did you know that you were a Famous Author?

Poor Ducky, and poor BB. Hope he is feeling better soon so you can rest too.

I can say there is something worse, four cats with colds not cat flu, thank goodness. The only way to help them breathe was to put them in a cat cage, throw a sheet on top, crawl underneath with them and have the birko boiling with vicks in it. I had the cleanest sinuses ever and all survived but not in the sunniest of tempers.

Oh, Jahteh, you definitely have my pity there. But at least you could put them in a cage.

If snacks continue to be received begrudgingly, add a dash of Vicks to his next cup of tea. This tends to focus the mind. & tell BB I suggested it as a remedy for inappropraite grumpiness.

I always coo sympathetic words at my bloke. Like, 'so sorry that you've got a bad case of hypochondria. Can I get you anything?'

Why do men with colds think they are DYING and women with colds get up and soldier on?

women are used to feeling less than perfect once a month. we get used to it.

I think I must be a man then. I am such a sooky la la when it comes to being sick. Much exclamations of 'ow...it pains...it pains!'

I diagnose acute alcoholic deprivation and prescribe hospital brandy, STAT. It's medication the whole family can enjoy.

The Bloke doesn't get stroppy when he has his annual cold. He gets demented; so we spend the whole following week having conversations more typical of an elderly couple while I remind him of everything that's happened, and conversations we've had. It's highly entertaining.
