Remember to breathe

A well-loved ancient tree, originally uploaded by Ampersand Duck.

I saw trees like this all over Seoul when I visited last year. Green things are very precious in a city with so much pollution and very few birds.

This tree was so old, and mostly dead, except for one little shoot springing out of one little end part, which had been lovingly propped up and nurtured.

This 'bouquet' is for Dave Allen, for all the laughter he gave me through my childhood.

  1. RIP Dave. I do love a good tree and if you do too the BEST BOOK is Conversations With Great Trees (just amazon search it for a lowdown) it is a collection of tree photos/history that makes one just want to go there and hug them. . .maybe take band aids to them in autumn . . . .

  2. Excellent! thanks for the tip. I saw lots of cool trees over there, including one bandaged up with a hypodermic needle and drip bags feeding fluid into it (at a Buddhist temple)!
